Wayne’s Wilson named Clerk of the Year
Wayne County Clerk to the Board Marcia Wilson was presented with the Howard Holly Outstanding Clerk Award prior to the North Carolina Association of County Clerks Annual Conference, held in April in Wake County. Wilson has served as Wayne's clerk since October, 1990.
"It is an honor to receive the Howard Holly Outstanding Clerk Award from my peers. The award is a culmination of many years of service to my Wayne County citizens and the North Carolina Association of County Clerks to the Boards of County Commissioners. It is very special to be recognized for a job you thoroughly enjoy and find rewarding.
I learned many years ago…no man is an island. When we achieve, we usually do so because others have helped us along the way. I am grateful to my Wayne County Commissioners, County Manager, co-workers, fellow Clerks and family for their support and realization of the professionalism of my position. It is a pleasure to be associated with a team of caring and dedicated members."
